Impressions on Moldova LifeShop
From 24 to 27 of September 2015, Forum Synergies organised a “Lifeshop” in Ungheni districts (Republic of Moldova), in partnership with PREPARE and Ecological Movement of Moldova. The LifeShop concept offers local players the opportunity to discover local lifestyle, with a specific focus on personal relationship between visitors and local hosts more than political proposals. Sixteen participants from 10 countries – including participants from Georgia - discovered Moldova reality.
Meetings with vice Mayor of Ungheni, with responsible for agriculture department or with farmers association gave us an overview on the agricultural situation where 2 models still coexist: subsistence farming versus exportation one (to Russia or EU). The visits and further exchange with local leaders and Moldavian participants committed in local development raised some questions on Moldova countryside future: how to maintain people in the villages – and in the country? What about agroecology and young farmers? But also stressed the potential and capacity of the people and experiences visited.
