Montessori Moment
"Education vs. Edutainment," a new piece on Montessori in the The Huffington Post, argues: "What makes Maria Montessori so relevant to this conversation, both historically and as a contemporary, is in her attempt to find a personalized approach to learning. In the age of industrialization, her approach wasn't contrarian. It was necessary. It placed an emphasis, not on adulthood, but on the experiences of childhood. On following the interests of children, instead of trying to fabricate them through overstimulation." Click HERE to read more.

Parenting Workshop
There is still time to register for the Parent Talk System introductory workshop on Wednesday, November 18 from 7-8 p.m. here at MSBG. The Parent Talk System helps parents develop positive verbal skills to effectively communicate with their children. (MSBG teachers practice these skills, too.) Watch as misbehavior decreases and family harmony increases!
The workshop will be led by Sue DiBiasio, Montessori teacher, parent, grandparent and Parent Talk facilitator.

Holiday Parade
Plan to march with us on November 21 during the BG Chamber of Commerce's Holiday Parade. It's fun, festive, and a great time for all.
We will announce as soon as we know where our assigned meeting place is. It is a Beach theme so we have leis for all participants. Refreshments, courtesy of CAPE, are going to be provided while we wait. Please sign up on the posters around the school so we have an estimate of participants.
We need candy to toss; there is a collection box in the foyer. We also need to borrow some beach towels to put on the float. Please bring those with you that morning.
Thanks all! It will be a fun morning together.
