Surviving Personal Tragedy

Stressed businessman on stepsTragedy, it seems none are immune to it. Oh some appear to always be blessed and favored but we all know at some point in our lives tragedy hits us either directly or indirectly.  Questions arise: "How could God have allowed this?" "How will we make it through this?" "Why did this happen to our family?" One of the things I love about the Bible is that it shows our "heroes of the faith," in all of their glory and all their weaknesses.  We wired to ask questions just find yourself any four year old and you'll be overwhelmed with questions. Jesus himself even asked for "this cup to be taken from me." Yet His response was to trust and fully accept what the Father willed.

greendesertWhat's the secret for responding like Jesus when we face our next trial? Bringing to remembrance who He is. Recalling His nature, character, and faithfulness. We all agree that an earthquake can be devastating bring loss of life, injury, destruction and suffering. Earthquakes shake "all that can be shaken and even change geography. An earthquake can result in a fresh spring erupting from quenched dry and thirsty land. Transforming a barren land into a fertile life giving "oasis." In the same way the shakings of tragedy can cause "living water" to spring up in our hearts! Bring transformation and fruit that we've never known before.

Psalm 107 gives us a promise and insight into those dry, lonely, desolate places that tragedy and hardship require us to walk through. "He turns a wilderness into pools of water,And dry land into watersprings." Psalm 107:35 (NKJV)

Does it take more strength to ascend the Mountain or to walk through the Valley?  It depends upon who is traveling with you, make sure to rely upon the Holy Spirit. Jesus said it was better that He would go so that Holy Spirit would come. Child of God you are never alone, unless you choose to be! When we can't see our way through the pain or confusion we must lean upon Jesus! He's who you were made for!

Blessed is the man whose strength is in You, Whose heart is set on pilgrimage. As they pass through the Valley of Baca (weeping), They make it a spring; The rain also covers it with pools. They go from strength to strength; Each one appears before God in Zion. Psalm 84:5-7 (NKJV)

You're gonna make it through this even when your strength is gone and you can't find your own way! Praying for all who might read this and for all who might read this and find strength in Christ to press on, until you too can see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living!

You can’t change the world alone—you will need some help— and to truly get from your starting point to your destination takes friends, colleagues, the good will of strangers and a strong coxswain to guide them.

What we are doing with the prayer movement is something our nation desperately needs.  We are impacting a generation that we believe may very well see the Return of JESUS CHRIST! In the midst of our national wandering from God, there are 10's of thousands of young people longing for a radical life in God! We are thrilled to be pouring into thousands of those fiery messengers.

We have not positioned ourselves for a missions trip but for a lifetime of being missionaries Our commitment to LIFE goes beyond a bumper sticker or even an extended season of fasting.

We can't complete this journey without partnership. That's really always been the LORD's plan with any work He commissions. People sending people. Please consider giving to our work here in Kansas City today.Your gift of any amount is greatly appreciated. Monthly partnership and special gifts both make a significant impact in our ability to minister to the LORD and the Body of Christ! Please stand with us.
