Dr Kathleen Gray
Senior Research Fellow at HaBIC

"What, you're worried about a bunch of lay-people overseeing your surgery?" says Dr Kathleen Gray, senior research fellow in health informatics in Melbourne University's faculty of medicine, dentistry and health sciences.

 

Dr. Gray is commenting on the startling results of some studies conducted in the US during the past year. The studies looked at ways to better evaluate the abilities of surgeons – a process that is rarely carried out.

Ms Deepa Prabhu
 
Ms Deepa Prahbu joined HaBIC in October 2015 as a Telehealth Research Officer. She graduated as Bachelor in Biomedical Engineering from Karnatak University Dharwad, India in 2001 and then went on to do masters in Biomedical Instrumentation and signal processing from Visveswaraya Technological University, India in 2002. Since completion of her post graduation, she has been working as a scientist at the Defence Bioengineering and Electromedical Laboratory (DEBEL), Defence research and Development Organization, Ministry of Defence, Bangalore,  India,  where she has worked on design of Portable telemedicine systems, Wearable remote physiological monitoring systems  and drug delivery systems. Currently, she is enrolled as a PhD student at the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health sciences, University of Melbourne. Her PhD focus is on Data analytics in wearable monitoring systems for elderly care.
