Over the past ten weeks, 686 individuals have signed the attendance pads at a weekend service.  We divided those individuals into two demographics.  Above, you can see what percentage of each has attended just one service, 2-3 services, 4-6 services, or 7+ services.

Thanksgiving Potluck

On Sunday, November 22, we will be hosting a Thanksgiving Potluck & Hymn Sing on the Westside!  Through this event, we hope to be good neighbors and to engage with our community.  Central will provide turkeys, drinks, and utensils, but the rest is up to the rest of us!  If you can't prepare a dish, though, please don't let that be a reason not to join.  We will gather starting at 4:30 that day.  If you have any questions, get in touch with Joe!

Servant's Table Servesgiving!

Come celebrate the season and give back to the community at Servesgiving!  In the evening on Tuesday, November 17th from 6:30-8:00 in the basement living room at Westside, join together with Servant's Table (a group of volunteer leaders at Central.)  We will spend the evening writing thank-you notes to people that are making a difference at Central and within the Athens community.  Bring your friends, neighbors, children, and anyone who wants to take some time to recognize all the good that happens in our town! For more information, contact Kathy!

Central Venue has been one of the most exciting parts of our recent history. It's been fun and exciting to see all the ways the space has been used over the past five years, outside of Sunday morning worship. It has been a venue for community meals, shared learning, gigantic art projects, and so much more. For some reason, many of the events Central has hosted in the space haven't seen a great turn-out.
For weeks, many people have been working hard on planning and dreaming for the event that took place last night. We hosted a concert featuring our own
Jake Householder, and the extremely talented Timbre. After hours of set-up during the day with many hands working, we approached the event with nervous anticipation. "I really hope people come!" echoed from many mouths. We considered that we may have been unrealistic with the large amount of brownies and cookies we ordered for the show. We cited the approximately 70 people who RSVP'd that they would come on the Facebook event, and said we would consider it a success if a third of them came.
As 6:00 rolled onto the clock, we opened the doors of Central Venue to a stream of eager concert attenders who filed in and took their places amongst the audience. We lost count at 120 people! Amazing music and good company were enjoyed by Centralites and community members alike. Not a crumb of cookie was left at the end of the night.

Jake and Timbre both have music available on bandcamp, so if you were at the show and are itching for some more, click their links above!
