quick updates

GROWTH
We're getting a great response from the registration process for 2016 so far. We're seeing more first-time applications for the team than ever. We've got a number of new members coming from other teams, too, which will help to augment the racing expertise and experience as a whole. Again, please reach out to people you think would make great teammates, or who have expressed interest in racing.

WOMEN'S TEAM
We are currently in the process of organizing the women's team leadership to provide better support and a more consistent racing and training experience. Look for more updates in the coming weeks.

SPONSORSHIP
We are getting close to finalizing our sponsors for the 2016 season in order to have kits ordered for the team in December. We'll begin featuring sponsors in the newsletter as we solidify those relationships.

TEAM PRESENCE
Racer David Odom submitted an excellent article to the pedal site on making the jump from road racing to cyclocross this week. This type of perspective is hugely valuable to the team – not only as far as useful information, but as content that helps to promote our team through social media channels. Give it a read when you have a few minutes here. Thanks again David for taking the time! Everyone on the team is welcome to share their own racing or training (or life) experiences and perspective on the site.

Finally, I'm sad to announce that Tiffany and Jason Short of Threshold Endurance, both of whom have been leaders on the team in addition to generous sponsors, are moving to Texas. We can't thank you guys enough for all of support and training advice you've provided over the years, and we'll miss your guidance and friendship. But, you've always got a home base to visit here and a HUGE pool of ride partners. Best of luck to you both.

Team Training

WINTER TRAINING SESSIONS
As mentioned at this week's team meeting, we will be offering FREE indoor training this year at Balance Athletics (near the shop), beginning January 5th, Tuesdays and Thursday, for 10 weeks. We will be following another terrific plan from Jason Short with leadership from Aaron Hugen. We wanted to make it free to encourage as many of you to participate as can. These sessions are a great chance to learn about racing, share stories, and build camaraderie – team and club members welcome!

WEIGHT TRAINING
In addition, Balance Athletics is offering 2 cycling specific weight training classes:

November 23 – December 14th (4 weeks) - Monday 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM cycling specific weight training. Intense weight training to build maximum strength that is best done at this time of year (at the beginning of base training). Includes instruction for other strength training workouts people can do on their own during each week .

Jan 5 – Mar 8th (10 weeks) – Monday 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM cycling specific weight training. Moderate weight training to build some strength but without compromising agility and leg speed, which is best for this time of year (with races starting less than a month after this training stops). Includes instruction for other strength training workouts people can do on their own during this period.

These classes would cost $10 per class and would NOT be offered exclusively to our team. Please let
Chip know if you are interested in signing up for these classes.

CYCLOCROSS

We had 7 racers competing last weekend at CycloX Interlocken in some of the biggest fields the state has ever seen in 'cross. Over 800 racers lined up! Strong racing by Gary Mullins, Justin Sheldon, Stephen Douglas, David Odom, Mark Stookesbury and Paul Lowe. Chad Sigler, new to the team in the past few weeks, landed a 3rd place podium in SM5!

Joe jammed in one more century before the snow starts to fly last Saturday. Way to put the pedal to the metal, Joe!
