The Final Countdown

The end of November signals more than just a countdown to Christmas – it’s a time of year that most of us will use to assess our achievements and tackle end of year goals.

For me personally I see December as a chance to reflect on the year that has past and to set new aspirations for the one that’s yet to come. It is incredibly important to, somehow, amongst all the chaos, find the time to prioritise what needs more of my attention, be that my business or personal life. Sometimes both!

To help you achieve this, I am delighted to offer you 10% off any of our PA packages to set you on the right path for 2016 - perhaps you are in desperate need of someone to take over your gift list over the holidays, or getting your end of year accounts in order. Whatever it is, I hope it will set the tone to help you see out the year on a high note!

Best wishes
Jane

The Christmas Crackered Collection

This collection is packed full of exciting products you won’t find elsewhere, making it stand out from the standard hamper. From the subtle flavours of the Orange and Cointreau Christmas pud to our unforgettable Clementine, Black Cardamom & Saffron Marmalade, this is the perfect way to spice things up this Christmas.

The Perfect Ploughman Collection
There's nothing we love more than an amazing cheese and charcuterie board, so we decided to curate our own, celebrating some of the finest British cheese and cured meats this country has to offer. And, of course, no cheese and meat board is complete without crackers and chutney. Whether you want to impress a connoisseur with the perfect foodie gift or throw an unforgettable dinner party, this collection has you covered.
The Gintoxicating Collection
The perfect Gin & Tonic is whatever you prefer it to be, but our favourite goes back to the Victorian origins of the drink: a rooty Old Tom style gin and a tonic made with real cinchona bark - the original source of quinine. As the cinchona's preventive effects for malaria became prescribed across the tropical part of the British Empire, the Victorians began mixing their tonic and gin rations, giving birth to the nation's favourite cocktail.

What were you doing before you became a VA for Designated PA?

Ive spent the past 8 and a half years in Australia working in the family wine business and restaurant as Events and Functions manager.

What have been your greatest achievements to date?

Moving to Sydney post university and starting my life on the other side of the world.

What do you enjoy about being a VA?

The flexibility of working from anywhere and the diversity of clients suited to my skill set.

What do you see as the main benefits to an individual or business of outsourcing to a VA like yourself?

I feel that initially it’s crucial to find someone that can grow with the client’s business and who has the right skill set in order to create a long term working relationship. In my experience, nearly every VA works in a specific niche, meaning that they have expertise and knowledge that will benefit clients in that sector.

Describe your work environment when you are virtually working

I like to spend half my time in the home office and the other half out – I find the background noise in a café therapeutic when researching information.

Work life balance is important to everyone – how do you manage yours?

I try not to 'take my work home' with me, so to speak, which can be tricky when you work from home. I treat the day like I would in an office… at the end of the day it’s ‘home and family time.
