Buenos Aires Mission

God continues to work and do great things in and through His people here in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Thanks for reading this newsletter to find out about some of the things our God is doing!

Since this last year, I have dedicated many hours to reading, studying and contemplating the Gospels. I was invited to speak about Jesus and His work recently in Bolivia and Peru and we spent several weeks studying Christology at the Argentine Bible Institute.

The more I understand about who Jesus was and is today, I am comforted — knowing that He loves me not in spite of who I am but precisely because of who I am. I am also challenged — His love comes to me not only as a blessing but as an invitation to continue His ministry of love and compassion on this earth.

The more I learn about Jesus and His life, the more I am convicted that missionaries are not sent just to save souls but to share the Gospel and to live out its ramifications in its diverse manifestations. This means loving the unloveable, strengthening the weak, aiding the poor, comforting the hurting and being a light in the darkness of sin and shame.

Please pray that I may continue to contemplate the Lord and His work and that this contemplation might bear fruit in concrete action that gives hands, feet and heart to the Gospel in Buenos Aires.

Buenos Aires Things are going very well on the home front! The church is continuing the grow and we are constantly meeting new people and inviting them to be a part of what God is doing among us. Please continue to pray for our church here in Buenos Aires!

São Paulo, Brazil I was blessed once again to participate in "Connections", a missionary care retreat organized by Great Cities Missions. Over 53 men came from all over Latin America to participate alongside elders, ministers and counselors from the States. It was a great blessing to spend five together in rest and renewal.

One of the things that I see Jesus doing in His encounters with other people in the Gospels is listening. This is something I am striving to practice with others in my ministry.

I am so thankful for the visit of Mark and Ben from the Northside Church of Christ in Wichita, Kansas. Ben visited me in Buenos Aires four years ago and Mark visited me six years ago in Caracas, Venezuela.

Site visits are important so the supporting church can have a better idea of what their missionaries are doing, where they live and what is going on in the work. The biannual visits from Northside are a breath of fresh air, a time of great encouragement for me! It was truly refreshing to spend time with these two dear brothers! I am thankful for the opportunity to work with the Northside church in Wichita as I serve Christ here in South America.

This is the second consecutive year that I participate as a speaker at the National Youth Camp of the churches of Christ in Peru. This year we had our camp in Pisaq, Cusco. We had over 120 kids from all over the nation and a group from La Paz, Bolivia. I spoke about making a difference in our society. Please pray for this next year's plan for another camp in Cusco.

Michelle Goff of Iron Rose Sister Ministries visited Buenos Aires and taught a special weekend class for young ladies. We had even more women in attendance than those who were in the final photo. We are so thankful for Michelle's hard work and dedication in order to bring these young women a message of God's love and faithfulness in the midst of difficulties.
