Success in the Marsden Funding round

Plant & Food Research is involved in four projects funded in this year's Marsden Funding round, the most successful Marsden round for the Institute. Plant & Food Research will lead three projects – tracing the evolution of smell, building an electronic nose, and understanding flower colour in snapdragons – and will also be involved in a project with Victoria University of Wellington to understand salt tolerance in plants. READ MORE


 

Scientist awarded prestigious Fellowship to develop electronic nose

Dr Colm Carraher, a scientist at Plant & Food Research developing an electronic nose based on insect odorant receptors, has been awarded a Rutherford Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship to further his research. READ MORE

Plant & Food Research was highly commended in the Drake New Zealand Government category at the 2015 AUT Excellence in Business Support Awards celebrated with a gala dinner at the Langham Hotel, Auckland on 29 October, attended by more than 600 business leaders and members of the business community.
