A snowy picture of Main Street Stony Plain.
Can you imagine having your power shut off at 10 p.m. every night? That is what it was like when Stony Plain had its first electrical plant over 85 years ago.

In this picture is the Armbruster house, behind the house is the generator which provided electricity to the Town from 1925 to 1929.

Volunteer Opportunities
40 years ago a Volunteer Board initiated the Heritage Agricultural Society.  It runs the day-to-day services of the Multicultural Heritage Centre, and depends heavily on volunteer involvement.

Today, the Multicultural Heritage Centre has a formal volunteer program, which provides our volunteers with support and training.   We have many volunteers contributing thousands of hours annually in all departments and areas of operations at the Centre.
