PRSA Colorado's Spaulding Inducted into College of Fellows
By: PRSA Colorado Board of Director's

PRSA Colorado member Sara Spaulding, APR, Fellow PRSA, was formally inducted into the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) College of Fellows November 7 at the PRSA International Conference in Atlanta, Ga.

Sara was among 14 PRSA members nationwide who were approved by the Board of Directors for acceptance into the organization’s prestigious College of Fellows. Founded in 1989, the College of Fellows is a community of less than 350 senior PRSA members who have successfully advanced the public relations profession and distinguished themselves through their leadership in the public relations industry.

In order qualify for admittance into the College of Fellows, the public relations practitioner or educator must have at least 20 years of experience, hold the Accredited in Public Relations (APR) credential and have demonstrated exceptional capability and accomplishment in the practice or teaching of public relations. College of Fellows members also must exhibit personal and professional qualities that make them role models for other practitioners or educators. Less than two percent of PRSA members are accepted into the College of Fellows.

Sara is a seasoned professional in communications strategies, crisis management, media relations, and branding. Sara has held leadership positions for healthcare organizations, non-profit associations and in the corporate sector. Most recently, she was market development manager for Century Link Colorado and prior to that was vice president of communications and marketing for the Alzheimer's Association of Colorado.

An accredited public relations professional, Sara holds a master's degree in communication management from Colorado State University. She has served as a part-time instructor for Metropolitan State University of Denver and teaches the public information officer training course for the Colorado Division of Emergency Management. Each fall and winter semester, Sara hosts a communications intern from Metro State University. She values the opportunity to train the next generation of professionals sharing her passion for public relations while helping build skills for successful careers in the field. She currently serves on the Public Relations Society of America Colorado Chapter Board as an assembly delegate.

A selection committee, consisting of current College of Fellows members, solicited and reviewed applications and recommended this year’s group of candidates to the PRSA 2015 National Board of Directors. PRSA Colorado extends a sincere congratulations to Sara on this tremendous accomplishment!
