Decision Church Leadership

The church is still progressing well, with new converts and many new members joining our family. We have been teaching a series on Eldership and deacons and as a staff, we've selected a group of men and women who will be presented to the church for some to be elected by the members by the end of December. It's an exciting process and can't wait to present them to the members during our AGM. These 9 people selected for this will be presented to the members and 5 will be elected at the end of December.  Those elected will go through more training and coaching, until March to be instituted into their positions.  Please prayer for these elections, the people and their leadership with the Church congregation.

Ministry Updates (by Ricot)

The Church is doing extremely well. However, an ongoing problem is there is just no room at the services at our tiny building as we have had up to 150 people attending! Last month, 12 people were baptized, praise the Lord.  We had a conference recently with educators and speakers in the community on various topics:
  • starting a business
  • resolving conflict
  • youth pregnancy
  • choosing the right spouse
This was incredibly well received and we had standing room only with so much attendance.

A great example of how the Church is building a community I'll also share.  The local Church offerings were something we've wanted to expand the community with and fellowship of the people for the mission. Members of the congregation have formed a committee to vote and decide on how to best use the donations.  They've decided to use the Heat for Home land to raise some goats for the mission.  They now have 12 goats on the property, people have built a goat shelter for them and are caring for them to produce milk. Its a joy to see so much local passion and interest to expand the community and the mission.

An finally, Merry Christmas to you all.
No matter what comes your way, remember that God loves you.
Building Projects
Late November saw excellent work on continuing the canal that protects the land from washouts and controls the water flow through the property in Port Salut.  Ricot was back in Haiti to see it completed. At one point we had up to 100 guys working away to finish it, which took about 2 weeks to do. For about a week, there was a group of 60 guys with pick axes and shovels digging and shoveling the remaining area of the Canal. Ricot commented, "I am amazed to she how hard and fast these guys can work. It's a joy to see the excitement they have just to have a job for a day or two."  So, the Canal is now done, completely. No risks now on water erosion and heavy rains!  Also, the bathrooms are up and running and used every day, which the people are very happy about obviously.

Also, some painting on the Guard House
