Sunday, November 22nd

This Sunday we will offer the Sacrament of Unction/Healing at the 10 a.m. service.
This week is a Youth Sunday - click for more information!
This Sunday is a Youth Sunday - our older children will read the lessons, usher and help lead the liturgy. Normally the Children’s choirs would sing, but we have decided to postpone their singing until December 20 because thay have not had enough time to rehearse and feel confident about their songs. Godly Play and Communion Class will go to Church School and Godly Dialogue (grades 3-6) will be in church with their parents - the sermon this week will be geared toward them!
Moments from the Lectern - Alleigh Thoms
Throughout out the month of November we will welcome parishioners and others to speak about meaningful experiences here at Christ Church. Missed church last week? Click here to read Moments from the Lecterns featuring Alleigh Thoms.

Your pledge to Christ Church supports the many programs and ministries that are at the heart of our growing parish community. It’s up to each of us to support our ministries at CCBNY. Please take a moment to read this letter from Fr. Bird as he reflects on partnerships within and around Christ Church.

Our request is that you take some time to give thanks for all that God has given you, and then reflect on what Christ Church means in your life now and what it could mean to you in the future.  We hope that you will make a commitment that is personally meaningful to you.

So far, we have received 57 pledges totaling in over $336,000. Help us reach our goal for $850,000 by pledging online or drop your pledge card in the mail. Please contact Katie if you have not received your stewardship materials.

December 6th - Charles & Annbritt duChateau
Annbritt and Charles duChateau have been collaborating together, musically and otherwise, since June of 1997 when they met as conductors of the Second National Tour of Miss Saigon. Prior to that they had both conducted other well known Broadway tours of Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables. These tours (and marriage) eventually lead them to landing in Tuckahoe, NY to continue their musical and life pursuits together.  Annbritt went on to work extensively with Paul Gemignani (music director for Stephen Sondheim) for whom she conducted 3 Sondheim shows and played piano for Sondheim's Company with the New York Philharmonic.  Annbritt has conducted 9 Broadway shows to date, is currently music directing/conducting Disney's Aladdin.

Charles is not only an exceptional conductor on Broadway (8 shows to date), but is also a multi-instrumentalist and composer. He has played piano, cello, accordion and erhu on (or near) Broadway for the last 15 years. He is currently conducting and playing cello for “The King and I” at Lincoln Center, while other credits include Spiderman, South Pacific, The Color Purple, The Threepenny Opera, Fiddler on the Roof, Oklahoma, and Flower Drum Song. As a cellist, he has appeared on Late Night with David Letterman, Live with Regis and Kelly, and the Conan O’Brian Show. Charles also conducted a string section for the singer, Beck, on Saturday Night Live.

Annbritt and Charles discovered Christ Church when they enrolled their boys in the Young at Arts program years ago.  Having really embraced the YAA message of music and arts building community and having no boundaries, they volunteered their services for the annual YAA spring benefit. This ultimately lead to Charles being asked to become the Music Director of Young at Arts last year.

Join Britt & Charles in a discussion about how collaboration and creativity can serve as a metaphor living one's life in general.
