Table of Partners Membership Recruitment 2016 - 2017

We are looking for Table of Partner members!

The Alberni Clayoquot Health Network’s Table of Partners have committed to a two year term, to ensure consistency it has been decided that half the seats will expire every December, current members wishing to remain engaged are encouraged to apply but this means we have up to 6 seats available. If you have a keen interest in community building and social and/or health issues in the region, this may be the right opportunity for you to contribute to the ACHN. Check out the ACHN Table of Partners membership criteria and application HERE, please read carefully, fill out the attached application form if this fits with your interest level, and submit to:

Community Response to Poverty Forum - November 24th!

We are excited to support this great opportunity being organized by local MLA Scott Fraser to discuss poverty and ways forward in the Alberni Valley. 
Tuesday November 24th to hear more about poverty - its implications, programs and strategies to move forward.

Burn It Smart Workshop - November 21st!

Do you heat with wood? 
Ever wondered how to:
  • burn 1/3 less wood and 
  • get 15% more heat? 
  • Save time and money by burning as efficiently as possible. 
Learn the answers and more, this Saturday, Nov 21st, 2-4pm at the Port Alberni firehall. 
Learn the tricks of building a hot, smoke free fire from the local fire prevention officer and a burn-it-smart expert from Vancouver. 
Fun for the whole family

SD70 WellAhead Initiative Needs Your Vote - Deadline is November 23rd


SD 70 is one of six school districts, selected this year (by the J.W. McConnell Foundation), to participate in a WellAhead initiative focused to increase student wellbeing. Through this initiative Port Alberni students, parents, school-educational staff and agencies who support children and youth, created 3 everyday strategies that can be woven into everyday practice in schools.
Click to VOTE before November 23rd and provide input on which everyday idea, you feel will make a significant difference (keep in mind if it is doable and sustainable over time).
Register your email to vote and make sure the idea(s) you are voting/commenting on are SD 70 (Alberni).
