Happy Thanksgiving!

We are so thankful for all of you that pray and/or support us financially.  We are thankful for you!

This month has been another busy one!  We currently have 30 churches running their own AWANA Clubs.  We meet at least once a month to discuss questions, ideas, and training as well as encouragement and inspiration.

Dan has been busy working on keeping things running around here as well as the first steps in preparing to expand the Clinic and its services.  A new nurse was hired this week, and we are excited to welcome her to the GECHAAN team.  Dan has also been working on Global Leadership Summit Details and trying to figure out the status of our container and how we should proceed in that direction as well as some food distribution with local partners and World AIDS Day, which is December 1.  We are partnering with the local government and are excited to get to know some more local government officials.

Tina is still working on training Days for Girls seamstress to help with upcoming church women’s club trainings and work days. She is finally feeling much better and seems to be over the UTI’s, Typhoid, and resulting sunburn from the Doxycycline and a 4 hour outdoor church service this past Sunday.  She is so thankful to be feeling “more normal!”

We look forward to going to Abuja this weekend to look at delivery beds and medical equipment as well as stock up on supplies that we can’t get in Gembu.  We also are looking forward to spending the American Thanksgiving with two other missionary families in Abuja and sharing time together.  Things to be thankful for this November:  We are here in Nigeria and healthy and excited about what God has planned for GECHAAN’s future.

Our staff person this month is Charlotte.  Charlotte is an orphan that GECHAAN has helped with her education and apprenticing as a tailor and during a riot herein Gembu her tailor shop was burned.  We hired Charlotte for a few hours a day to help Peter the gardener and with some things around the compound, as of December 1 she will be a fulltime employee.  She is our seamstress for our Days for Girls Kits currently and doing an outstanding job.
Life as an orphan in Nigeria is not easy, yet Charlotte has an easy smile and beautiful spirit.  Please pray that she learn spending and saving skills as she cares for herself and we work with her.

In His Service,
