Thank you for Keeping Our Green Gates Open
Dear Farm Members:
This week, we hope all of you are able to celebrate the season's bounty with friends and family. Extra veggies have been harvested so be sure to stock up at the farm stand. Thanks to the first frost, the last of the warm weather crops have been gathered so it's the end of eggplant, squash and basil!
Farmer Skip is still struggling with shingles (can anyone recommend a specialist?) so we will be having a quiet holiday.
We appreciate you spreading the word about the Keep Our Green Gates Open campaign. In the next email, we will provide an update. In the meantime, please tell your friends they can help by:
Thanks for your continued support. Happy Thanksgiving.
Your farmers,
Erin, Skip, Katie, Jason, Christina, Suzannah, Stevie Ray, Michele, Alex

Howdy,
While it seemed it was still summer a week ago, it looks like fall (or winter?) has finally arrived in Texas. With two nights over the weekend near or below freezing, the end of summer vegetables is here. We're hoping we'll still be able to bring you the occasional tomato from the new hoophouse we built this summer, and possibly some green ones that are still hanging on outside.
The end of summer veggies brings more cool weather crops. We're hoping to have enough carrots for everyone this week, (they love the cold - it makes them sweeter), along with other holiday appropriate veggies. This week we've got more winter squash, two kinds of turnips, and kale. Luckily, this cold snap hasn't damaged any of our more fragile greens, and you can look forward to bountiful thanksgiving shares.
Again, we'll be closed on Thanksgiving day, but open for the remainder of the week. And I'm thankful for that. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, and it must be for all farmers. What other holidays are centered around celebrating delicious food?
Thanks again for supporting our farm and I hope you have a great holiday!
-Farmer Jason
