Faculty Honor Roll

Marty's Message

Army ROTC at UW-Stevens Point has a storied history. President Sims first pursued a program in 1918 but it wasn’t until 1968 that interim Chancellor Haferbecker was able to secure ROTC for our campus and place it within the College of Professional Studies. Since then, we have commissioned many successful officers, built a beautiful new facility and won many awards.

Perhaps the biggest of those awards came this week when our ROTC unit (which includes Stout, River Falls and Eau Claire) was named the Best Overall Program in the 3rd Brigade for 2015!

When you consider that the 3rd Brigade encompasses 42 units in an area stretching from Northern Michigan to Southern Missouri and as far West as the Dakotas and Kansas, this accomplishment ranks right up there with other historical milestones.

Congratulations to LTC Thompson, his Cadre and our cadets on this big honor. Read more about this honor in today's Monday Message.
