A WIKEM.org PRIMER:

Vasopressors

dosing, pharmacokinetics, and clinical situations

The goal of a vasopressor is to reach critical organ perfusion pressure. Estimated minimal mean arterial pressures (MAP) vary by organ system. It is generally safe to aim for a goal map of 65 mmHg. Vasopressors also promote increased venous return.  Different vasopressors act on different sites. Review the multiple receptors that each vasopressor acts on before your next crashing patient.
The EMcrit Podcast has a fantastic review of the dosing and use of vasopressors in the ED.
