HARVARD CATALYST EDUCATION 

Fundamentals of Clinical and Translational Research (FaCToR)
January 25-April 13, 2016
Applications due November 20, 2015

FaCToR offers an overview of the concepts of clinical/translational research through the dynamic and interactive medium of online learning.Participants will learn about the spectrum of clinical and translational research that begins with first-in-human studies and concludes with healthcare interventions implemented on a population level.

 

Program in Clinical and Translational Science (PCaTS)
July 2016 – May 2018      
Applications due January 8, 2016

This two-year certificate program consists of a didactic curriculum and a mentored clinical/translational (C/T) research project with a Harvard-based mentor. It is designed primarily for clinicians and researchers seeking to strengthen their knowledge in the conduct of C/T investigation.

 

Effectively Communicating Research, March 21-22, 2016
Applications due January 8, 2016

Communication is an essential part of research and a crucial component for a successful career as a researcher. This two-day course is designed to provide fellows and junior faculty with the skills necessary to express their science clearly to diverse audiences through a variety of platforms.

 

Successful Grant Writing Strategies 
March 28-May 9, 2016 
Applications due January 15, 2016

In this online course, participants will gain an in-depth introduction to the grant writing process and learn strategies firsthand from researchers who have successfully applied for funding from a variety of sources. 

 

Bioinformatics Workshops

The C3 Bioinformatics joint venture helps scientists with bioinformatics training through hands-on workshops on topics ranging from DNA, RNA, and protein sequence analysis to database searching and genomic predictions. Attend these free workshops that can benefit your research.

2016-17 Health Research Grant Program Using Grapes – Letters of Intent due December 1, 2015

The California Table Grape Commission is accepting letters of intent for $30,000 grants that may be applied toward any relevant health issue in which grape consumption may have a beneficial impact. Grape research is conducted using a freeze-dried whole grape powder, designed to facilitate reproducible data and to provide researchers with a grape sample that is available year round. BRAIN Initiative Human Research Opportunities 

The Department of Health and Human Services is offering a funding opportunity as part of The Brain Research through Advancing Innovative Neurotechnologies (BRAIN) initiative, a presidential project aimed at revolutionizing our understanding of the human brain.

 

BRAIN Public-Private Partnership Program: Industry Partnerships to Facilitate Early Access to Neuromodulation and Recording Devices for Human Clinical Studies 

This opportunity is for partnerships between clinical investigators and manufacturers of the latest-generation implantable neuromodulation/recording devices.

U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Regulatory Science Training Fellowship - CDER

Under the guidance of a Division of Drug Information (CDER) mentor, the fellow will develop training materials to introduce students to challenges in drug development and regulatory decision making, with the intent that these training materials will be made widely available to the academic community for incorporation into their regulatory science curricula.
