Dear COJOWA Community,

We would like to clarify how next week’s Wednesday to Friday (Nov.25 - 27) schedule will work.

Wednesday, November 25th

Preschool:

Early Dismissal at 11:00am for Maternal to kindergarten students.
Circle Time: regular class schedule
NO EAGLES ACTIVITIES

1st to 12th grade students:

Early Dismissal at 1:00pm
NO EAGLES ACTIVITIES

Thursday, November 26th

Preschool:

Regular class schedule for ALL students; NO early dismissal.
There WILL be Eagles Activities

1st to 12th grade students:

Early Dismissal at 1:00pm

Friday, November 27th

NO classes for ALL grade levels due to the Thanksgiving Holiday.

¡COJOWA Christmas Carnival!

El sábado 12 de diciembre será nuestro ¡COJOWA CHRISTMAS CARNIVAL! Será un día de integración y diversión para todo la comunidad COJOWA.

Ya estamos recibiendo el dinero de las boletas de la rifa y las manillas de entrada.

Valor Boleta Rifa: $25,000 pesos

Primer Premio: Dos tiquetes ida y vuelta a Miami (o su equivalente en dinero tiquete de temporada baja)
Segundo Premio: Dos tiquetes ida y vuelta a Bogotá (o su equivalente en dinero tiquete de temporada baja)

Valor Manilla de Entrada: $5,000 pesos antes de la fecha del evento. $10,000pesos en taquilla

¡Tendremos muchas actividades, deportes para estudiantes, padres, madres, exalumnos y profesores,, un show espectacular, comida deliciosa e invitados especiales!

PTA COJOWA

El 6 de noviembre culminó el primer ciclo de STEP para padres de niños de preescolar. Se trabajó con dos grupos de padres: Uno en las horas de la mañana y otro en las horas de la tarde.

A continuación algunos comentarios de los padres al evaluar el programa:

"Fue un espacio maravillosos que nos regaló herramientas para trabajar en las relaciones (padres, hijos, hermanos) de mi hogar. Logramos ser conscientes de nuestros comportamientos y cómo mejorarlos para ser más felices"

"Aprendí a controlar mis emociones y a interpretar los sentimientos y emociones de mis hijos"

"¡Mi enriquecimiento personal ha sido enorme! He aprendido que hay maneras diferentes y mejores de educar para llegar al mismo objetivo con mis hijos. Pero sobretodo estoy aprendiendo a combatir las creencias, para poder trabajar en la educación diaria con mis hijos y autocontrol"

Thanksgiving Food Drive en Elementary

Queridos padres,

Como parte de la celebración del día de acción de gracias, este año STUCO, NEHS y FUNDACIÓN COJOWA quieren que todos los estudiantes de primaria manifiesten el agradecimiento de una manera especial con personas que día a día se esfuerzan por mantener el colegio limpio y en agradables condiciones. Por este motivo, tendremos un “Food Drive” Desde el miércoles 18 de noviembre hasta el miércoles 25 de noviembre (¡la próxima semana!). Les pedimos a los estudiantes traer comida no perecedera a su clase cada uno de estos días.

La clase en la que más aporten y traigan mayor número de productos recibirá como premio un ice cream party. Resaltemos a los estudiantes que más que una competencia, es un acto de solidaridad, agradecimiento y de colaborar de corazón.

Fundación COJOWA, NHS y estudiantes de 9 realizaron una charla sobre la importancia de la higiene oral a niños de Manzanillo Del Mar en la Fundación de Carlos y Sonia Haime.

Felicitaciones a este grupo de padres y madres de High School quienes culminaron el curso de STEP.

¡Mucha perseverancia y éxito le deseamos a nuestros atletas de High School! quienes se encuentran en este momento en la ciudad de Bogotá participando en los High School Binational Games. Participan de este nuestros 12 colegios SACS hermanos y el anfitrión este año es el Colegio Nueva Granada. ¡COJOWA Christmas Carnival!

Saturday, December 12th, is our COJOWA CHRISTMAS CARNIVAL! It will be a day of families + COJOWA Community integration and fun.

We are already receiving money for the raffle tickets and the entrance wristbands.

Raffle Ticket Price: $25,000 pesos

First Prize: Two roundtrip tickets to Miami (or their equivalent in money, low season tickets)
Second Prize: Two roundtrip tickets to Bogotá (or their equivalent in money, low season tickets)

Entrance Wristband Price: $5,000 pesos per person BEFORE the event. $10,000 pesos per person the day of the event.

We’ll have a load of activities, sports for students, parents, alumni and teachers, a spectacular Christmas Show, delicious food and special guests!

COJOWA PTA

November 6th was the end of the first cycle of the STEP program for preschool parents. We offered two different time slots, one in the morning and the other in the afternoon, so we were lucky to have two parent groups graduating!

The following are parent comments about the program:

"It was a marvelous time that gave us tools to work with relationships (parents, sons/daughters, brothers and sisters) at my home. We are now more aware of our behaviour, and how to handle it to be happier”

"I learned to control my emotions and interpret the feelings and emotions my children have”

"My personal growth had been enormous! I have learned that there are different and better ways to educate to reach the same goal with my children. But above all, I am learning to combat “old beliefs”, to be able to work with my children in their every-day education and self-control”

We hope to see even more parents joining our STEP program for the second semester of the school year!

Thanksgiving Food Drive en Elementary

Dear Elementary Parents,

As part of the Thanksgiving celebration, this year STUCO, NEHS and Fundación COJOWA want all elementary students to manifest their appreciation to the people that day-by-day work very hard to keep our school clean and in pleasant condition.

That’s why, from Wednesday, November 18th until Wednesday November 25th (next week!) we’ll have a FOOD DRIVE! We ask all students to bring nonperishable food to their classroom during those days.

The class that brings the most and have the highest amount of products, will receive as a reward an ice cream party. We want to highlight that more than it being a competition for students, it’s about showing solidarity and thankfulness, to give from the heart.

Fundación COJOWA, NHS and 9th grade students did a talk about the importance of oral hygiene to Manzanillo Del Mar children at the Carlos y Sonia Haime Foundation.

Congratulations to this group of High School parents who recently finished their STEP Parenting Course.

We wish loads of perseverance and success to our high school COJOWA team athletes, who are right now at Bogotá participating in the High School Binational Games! There are 12 participating brother SACS schools, and this year’s host school is Colegio Nueva Granada.
