A new Call for Proposals has launched focusing on projects that have completed their research phase and are ready to be tested in real-world environments.  This call will be on-going and researchers across Canada and India are encouraged to apply.

IC-IMPACTS Provides Clean Water to First Nations Communities


An IC-IMPACTS project led by Dr. Madjid Mohseni and Dr. Pierre Berube is providing cleaner water to Lytton First Nation, Tl’azt’en Nation and Texada Island in BC.

Developing a Handheld Device to Better Detect E-Coli


Dr. Thomas Thundat at the University of Alberta is developing a handheld sensor that detects and communicates whether water is unsafe to drink due to E Coli contamination.  While results from labs normally take 48 hours, his technology can communicate results within an hour, decreasing potential illnesses.

New Webinar Series Launched for Students


In its effort to extend the learning experience of students working on research projects, IC-IMPACTS launched a monthly online series where students can learn new skills and techniques from a variety of speakers.
