Take a moment this morning to ask members of the House of Representatives to support legislation to reform the CFPB Indirect Auto Financing Guidance and vote YES on H.R. 1737.

There are a few ways to reach out to your representative:

CALL: Dial the Capitol Operator at 202-225-3121 and ask for your Representative (click here to find your Representative). Let the staff person who answers the phone know you are a constituent, a business owner and a strong supporter of H.R. 1737, Reforming CFPB Indirect Auto Financing Guidance Act of 2015.

Talking points:
  • Vote YES on H.R. 1737
  • HR 1737 would rescind the indirect auto guidance and requires complete transparency by the CFPB and its processes, if the guidance is reissued.
  • The legislation does not alter the CFPB's structure or modify its jurisdiction.
  • H.R. 1737 does require the CFPB to provide notice and a public comment period; consult with the Federal Reserve Board, Federal Trade Commission, and Department of Justice; make public the data and analysis done for the guidance; and study the impact of its guidance on consumers, minority-owned businesses, and small businesses.
  • The legislation passed out of the House Financial Services Committee in July with a strong bi-partisan vote.

Automotive News
It's a hot October afternoon at the annual Austin City Limits Music Festival, and revelers have found shade anywhere they can: the few trees dotting the park where the event is held; a camp chair from home with a built-in awning; and the Honda HR-V parked on a small stand next to the festival's artist-signing shack.
