Br. Anthony's Newsletter #14                                                                                                          November, 2015
In October the whole new world of 'Theology' opened to me. Having time to dedicate myslef to studing the Bible, history of the Church, Hebrew and other subjects has truly been amazing. Beginning Theology also marks the final countdown until my ordination! (3 years) One thing I have realized is that the classes do not necessarily form one's priestly heart, that happens through the interaction with all of my brothers in the seminary, in prayer and through all the apostolic experiences that God has given and gives me.

Churchathon is coming up!

December is right around the corner and so is our Advent Churchathon! As of right now we have 50 Brothers that I will be joining to visit 25 Churches in one day! Its an exhausting day but honestly the Churchathon has been one of the highlights of my time in Rome.
The Churchathon is a priestly event broken down in 3 ways:
1. Celebrate: Our vocation by spending the day as brothers and praying for our deacons (42) that will be ordained the week after!
2. Intercede: We visit the 25 Churches in order to bring the many prayer intentions of all of our friends to Jesus. Besides what else is a priest if not an intercessor for others? If you have any prayer intentions that I can bring with me please e-mail them to me @ afreeman@legionaries.org
3. Sponsor: Sometimes I wish I could run on solar power but sadly us humans haven't evolved that capability yet. Until then, I need to eat and am looking for sponsors that in any way can help me take care of the cost of my studies and formation. If you would like to help me, you may do so here. Thank you so much!

If you want to stay up to date on the Churchathon and receive live posts during the event you can follow our FB page HERE or check out our website: www.churchathon.org

What it means to be a team!

Being in such a large seminary (300+) is a huge blessing but can also be overwhelming with all of the different cultures, languages and experiences. In order to foster a deep fraternity that goes beying just learning the names of the 300 other brothers in the house we are divided into 'halls' or teams that consists of about 25 seminarians. As a team we work on projects together, share ministry and housework etc. Most importantly though we form spiritual bonds through reflections and brotherly encouragement and when we need to have a good time we know who to go to. (There is an unofficial competition among the teams to see who can find the most creative ways to "party") Above is a photo of when our team snuck away in order to have our own mass in St. Peter's and below is the aftermath of a soccer game we organized.
Some recent photos that include our team outing to St. Peter's Basilica, tour of the Vatican gardens with some great new friends, my intentions during spiritual exercises and a Sacerdos wrap up meeting.
