The Boswells School receives Quality Award for Work Related Education
The Boswells School received a Recognition of Quality Award (RoQA) for Work Related Education at a celebration evening in the council chamber at County Hall, Chelmsford.
Schools from all over Essex were invited to receive their awards in the area of Careers.
Guests listened to a talk from Anne Chant, Assistant Director for Careers at Canterbury Christchurch University.
She spoke about the changing labour market and how schools have to adapt to meet students’ needs in this ever changing careers environment.
The Boswells School was recognised for its achievements in Work Related Education and by ensuring that young people have the opportunity to gain experience in the workplace and that they can utilise the skills learnt from the school's Careers programme in school.
The award goes alongside the National Award in Careers Education, Advice and Guidance.
Paula Page, Careers Adviser at The Boswells School, said: “We are very proud to receive the award that has recognised our aim to ensure that our students are fully prepared for the world of work.
"The students are able to learn directly from their experiences in the work place and develop their employability skills, knowledge and understanding through many different activities including problem solving, visits from employers and mock interviews.â€
