Allotments available to rent
Green-fingered gardeners can turn their hand to growing their own fruit and vegetables by renting an allotment from Ongar Town Council.
Plots are currently available at the allotment sites in Castle Street, Ongar, and Moreton Road, Shelley.
Councillor Alison Wingfield, chair of Open Spaces Committee, said: "Renting an allotment is ideal for anyone looking for a hobby that will keep them fit, give access to fresh air and good company - as well as providing you with fresh fruit and vegetables."
Allotment rents cost just £38 per year.
The council will be holding its best kept allotment competition again next year.
