Also, the .BIBLE Advisory Council met together at American Bible Society’s headquarters in Philadelphia recently. Representatives from YouVersion / Life.Church, Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, United Bible Societies and Crossway met during this annual meeting to share updates for how we can contribute to the future of the Internet.

SUNRISE PERIOD FOR TRADEMARK HOLDERS

Starting on January 6, 2016, is a 30-day period known as the “Sunrise Period,” when registered trademark holders will have exclusive rights to register .BIBLE domain names matching their trademarks that are also registered in the Trademark Clearinghouse. This launch period is required by ICANN to help ensure trademark rights protection, and will run from January 6 to February 5, 2016. Refer to the current list of .BIBLE accredited registrars at nic.bible/register to find registrars that are offering Sunrise Period registrations.

American Bible Society is once again pioneering new ways to access the Bible. The ministry is administering the new .BIBLE top-level domain (TLD), opening up a new platform for Bible engagement. The first site to launch was American Bible Society’s American.Bible, which makes the message of the Bible accessible to people in a way that fits their digital lives.
