American Craft Council Library Fall Salon Series: The Legacy of Jack Lenor Larsen: Inside the Oral History Project with Dr. Stephanie Zollinger
Wednesday, December 9, 7 pm (doors open at 6:30 pm)
American Craft Council Library, 1224 Marshall Street NE, Suite 200

The American Craft Council presents a series of public conversations about craft, making and art in the American Craft Council Library, located on the second floor of the historic Grain Belt Brewhouse in northeast Minneapolis. Jack Lenor Larsen, a prominent figure in the history of craft, is one of the most influential textile designers in the world. Working for a business founded in his name, he produced textile patterns and designs for the interior, eventually moving into carpet and furniture design. His hand-made pieces incorporated innovative techniques based on traditional practices and methods learned through his many travels. After the sale of his business in 1997, Larsen’s entire archives were donated to the University of Minnesota and the Minneapolis Institute of Art. Join us for a talk with Dr. Stephanie Zollinger, one of the leading scholars of Larsen’s work and responsible for organizing the Jack Lenor Larsen Oral History Project through the Goldstein Museum and College of Design.

The American Craft Council Library is wheelchair accessible. All events are free and open to the public. For information click HERE.
