More News from Calcbench

In this blog post, you may observe the impact that a strong US dollar has on the foreign cash deposits that companies hold. We report the industries that are most effected as well as the top 10 firms. On November 4, Calcbench was proud to join regulators and financial analysts at the XBRL-US / NYSSA Conference on “Improving Financial Analysis Through Structured Data” held at Baruch College.  Alex Rapp, Calcbench co-founder, spoke on “Comparing Financial Fundamentals.”

By comparing loan books across banks using the Calcbench Footnote Analysis tools, we were able to determine the Income from banks loan books.  An interesting observation is that the most profitable loan books are from big credit card issuers.  In fact, two firms stand out!  Our results are summarized in the blog post above.

Did You Know?

  • Calcbench incorporates the Most Recent Quarter  and Most Recent Year as functions within our Excel add-in tool. Embed “MRQ” or “MRY” into the formulas to see for yourself!

  • In the Calcbench Excel Add-in, you are now able to right click and “trace metric”. This powerful feature allows full transparency into a metric by giving the user the exact location of the metric from the firm’s financial statements.
  • Calcbench also allows you to “reverse” the observations for better use in our Company in Detail view. This way you can have the most recent information on the far right hand side of your data set rather than the far left hand side. This feature is very useful in time series analysis!
