Bethany is raising three daughters, two of whom have a rare genetic disorder. Her middle daughter, Madison, is 3 and is on a ventilator. Overwhelmed with the costs of the life sustaining treatments for her ill children, Bethany can’t afford basic necessities. She was desperate for help and reached out to us. She was struggling to care for her newborn while tending to the needs of her Madison.

Through our conversation, we realized that something she really needed was a baby carrier. The family was also living without basic necessities – warm coats, shoes that fit, toiletries and enough diapers to keep her fragile children healthy and clean. After we gave her these things, Bethany sent us a picture of her smiling with her baby safely held in the carrier.

She said it was life-changing, allowing her to hold her newborn while having her hands free to care for her ventilator-dependent child. Bethany’s daily life was transformed by this one item.

While Bethany is one example, in 2014 we built relationships and with over 35,000 people during the tragedies of their lives. Your generosity can help us serve even more.
