WHAT IS #GIVINGTUESDAY?
We have a day for giving thanks. We have two for getting deals. Now, we have #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to giving back. On Tuesday, December 1, 2015, charities, families, businesses, community centers, and students around the world will come together for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity and to give.
It’s a simple idea. Today, the Raymond Coalition for Youth is dedicating all funds raised as part of Giving Tuesday to help bring the Improbable Players into our Middle and High school.
What are the Improbable Players? Performances and interactive workshops that bring authenticity and passion to preventing a serious health issue - alcohol and other drug abuse in our communities. The presentations are moving and deliver a message that is easy to understand and offers hope. They touch upon real life situations and are able to connect with the student body.
To participate in our RCFY GivingTuesday event you can make an online donation by clicking here, or send a donation to our office: RCFY, 4 Epping St, Raymond NH, 03077. In the memo put Improbable Players.
This is also our time of year when we send out our Annual Appeal. The 2015 campaign is going into the mail this week. We are also accepting donations via our Paypal account online along with several others options for supporting RCFY. All options are available on our website by clicking the DONATE button or by clicking here.
As part of Giving Tuesday you can help be part of the global celebration of and tradition of giving by supporting local efforts. Then tell everyone you can about how you are giving to help spread the generosity and bring a great program to our schools.
Heroin, You Are Not Alone, It Effects Everyone in the Community is this Thursday night, 6:30 -8:30 am at the Raymond Baptist Church on rt 27 in Raymond.
We have a guest panel that includes two people in recovery that will tell of their path into addiction, a parent who has lost a child to addiction, an emergency technician who responds to 911 calls for people in distress or overdosing, a Treatment professional to explain the different options and path ways into recovery and a representative from Hope For NH to talk about treatment and recovery services available in our State.
This evening is open and free for all to attend.
Following the presentation we will be hosting a FREE Narcan training and distribution. Narcan is the drug that reverses the effects of Opioids and can potentially save the life of someone experiencing an overdose situation. If you have a family member or friend who takes Opioid medications, or is potentially misusing a prescription drug or using Heroin, we encourage you to have a Narcan kit available.
If you have any questions regarding any of the information in this newsletter please do not hesitate to contact our office.
Thank you for your time and support for the Raymond Coalition for Youth, our programs and mission.
Together we are making a difference!
