NiRA Will build the Youths to build the Nation
Last week, Information Technology Professionals in Nigeria all converged at the International Conference Center (ICC) in Abuja, for the Annual E-Nigeria Conference and Exhibitions. The programme held between the 17th and 19th of November 2015. 

The immediate Past President of NiRA, Mrs Mary Uduma and my humble self participated at the sessions and presented papers. NiRA also had an exhibition booth, with some Registrars taking advantage of the booth to market the .ng brand at the event.

PREDICTING TECHNOLOGY TRENDS IN NIGERIA FOR 2016

AFTLD Secure Registry Operators Course
Africa Top Level Domain Organization (AFTLD) just concluded the Secure Registry Operators Course, which held from 9th to 13th November 2015 in Zambia.  Participants at the workshop came from 11 African countries, including Nigeria. Speaking at the opening ceremony of the event, the President of AFTLD,  Dr Paulos Nyirenda, in his opening remarks enumerated the essence of the training/workshop and the determination of the organization to continuously train African ccTLDs to build robust African Registries.
The participants, ccTLD technical and operations personnel which included two of NIRA Staff, were introduced to security aspects and best practices of operating a registry with hands-on practical sessions.

These include the principles of proactively securing the ccTLD Registry, improving the monitoring and responses of the registry activities, monitoring ongoing operations, detecting and analyzing cyber-attacks, incident response, recovery and mitigation strategies.
