December at the Library

Here comes winter...

Winter has been kind to us so far, but who knows what's around the corner! Whether we get blizzards or warmer weather, we'll have books, movies, and programs to help get you through the darkest part of the year.

Want to see everything going on? Take a look on our website to see the full calendar of events, add specific events to your Google calendar, or print out a copy to put on your fridge.

Music by the Fireplace

Every year, we look forward to December when Mary Wagner brings her harp to play by the fireplace. Get away from the busyness of the holiday season and relax to the sounds of harp music on Sunday, December 6 at 3pm.
Man Riding a Snowmobile

Snowmobile Safety Course

Snowmobiling is a rapidly growing winter activity, but it can be dangerous without safety training. The Ottawa County Sheriff's Department will teach a free snowmobile safety class on Tuesday, December 8 from 5-8:30pm. Register to reserve a spot.

If you're looking for something to do with the kids during Winter Break, we have programs on both Tuesdays of the holiday.

On December 22 at 10am, Tun-Dra Kennels will be at the library to talk about dog sledding & the Iditatrod. They'll be bringing their sled dogs for you to meet & doing a sledding demonstration so bring your mittens because we'll be outside for a bit.

On December 29 at 2pm, we'll be showing the movie Minions! What happens when everyone's favorite yellow creatures find themselves without an evil genius to serve?  Come to find out! The movie is rated PG and is 91 minutes long.
