Staying Connected
Andrew has been keeping very busy in his role as manager of the Communication and Technical Services (CTS) department as well as continuing in his role as a network engineer. He has been working on a number of large network infrastructure upgrade projects. This past week he and his team completed installing a new wireless network connection between our center and our aviation department 3 miles away--a project that the network team has been planning for nearly 2 years. It involved installing a new tower by the CTS department, running new cable, and putting together a team of installers to climb, install, and align the new equipment. This wireless link provides network and phone connectivity to the Aviation department which assists them in coordinating all the travel for translation teams and other fellow missionaries.

Aitape Translation Project
Last month the Aitape translation team held a workshop in which translators from 10 different language groups worked together to prepare their translations of Titus and Philemon for the next step of consultant checking early next year. We praise God with the team for a successful workshop!
Ben Pehrson, a leader in this multi-language project, said "This past workshop has been the best one as far as seeing personal growth in the translators and restored relationships in the midst of difficult trials. During the devotional times (which focus on the passages they are working on translating), almost all of the men spoke up at different times, asking pertinent questions of the text, making astute exegetical observations, pulling in informative cross-references, sharing how the Scriptures impacted them, and even offering personal confessions prompted by the Spirit and the Word. Some are even livi ng out the faithful struggle that Jesus refers to in Matthew 5:11-12 when 'people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.' The team is excited about this season representing a new beginning in the project and ramping up their efforts to continue making the Word of God accessible to the dark world around them. They also experienced a deep move of the Spirit as they were led to pray for one another and to even break down barriers of hostility and become reconciled to one another. Our hearts are full of thanksgiving. On behalf of our team, I would like to also say a huge thank you to you support workers here in Ukarumpa. We are grateful for each one of you and for the role you have in helping our team."
Andrew was able to provide assistance remotely to the team in resolving some network connectivity issues that were limiting the translators from backing up their translation data. We are so thankful to be able to be part of supporting Bible translation here in PNG. Thank you to each of you who enable us to be here in our roles. Together we all form the body of Christ!

Praise God
- For enough rain recently to fill our drinking water tanks and to water gardens after a severe drought--thank you for praying!
- For good health in our family this past month.
- That Hannah (8), Luke (6), and Eden (3 1/2) are enjoying school and preschool and each have good friends in their classes.
Prayer
- For continued rains (an end to the drought) so that newly planted gardens can grow and provide food for people around the country
- For continued good health in our family
- For Andrew--please continue to pray for wisdom and strength in his role as manager of CTS
- For Melody--please continue to pray for wisdom and guidance with each patient and for a healthy balance between work and home life
- For our daily walks with the Lord to be strong, as we can only make it here with His daily presence
- For continued progress in the various translation projects and for the hearts of the people of PNG to be changed by His Word
