Holiday Card Drive!

Our annual holiday card drive is back!  This holiday season, remember the furry residents at Better Days Animal League.  Mail a holiday card to PO Box 57, Shippesnburg, PA 17257 with a donation to Better Days Animal League.  We'll display the cards at our Chambersburg, PA facility.  All of the animals at Better Days appreciate the support and look forward to your messages!

Volunteer Corner

Volunteers are extremely important to Better Days!  If you are interested in helping Better Days by providing support for resident care, facilities maintenance, our thrift stores or fundraising, please visit the volunteer section of the website.  This month, meet Mary!

We have found a wonderfully dedicated volunteer in Mary!  She is a definite animal lover, and multi pet owner with several cats and a dog who loves to go for car rides.  One of his favorite rides is coming with Mary to the shelter on Saturdays w
here she shares her love of animals with our shelter residents as one of our faithful feline caretakers.  Because BDAL can always use additional volunteers either weekdays or weekends, Mary is always willing to fill in any holes on the schedule to ensure there is no litter box left unscooped!  Our kitties get her loving and her canine companion gets a ride out of the deal ... win-win for everyone, especially  Better Days Animal League ... and Mary's time as a volunteer is greatly appreciated!

If you are interested in dedicating time to animals in need, please visit our volunteer page to submit our short application and we will be in touch with you soon!

Featured Adoptable Pets!

Meet Cow Bessie!  Cow Bessie has lived at Better Days all her life and has yet to know what it is like to have a family of her own.  She is friendly with people but would prefer a home without other animals.  In 2014, volunteers noticed Cow Bessie starting to stumble slightly and losing her balance while out on walks.  Cow Bessie saw a series of veterinarians, including a neurological specialist.  Although no official diagnosis was made, Cow Bessie is on two on-going medications that keep her healthy and happy.  If you can open your home to a loving senior in need of a family and home to call her own during the latter years in her life, please consider adopting Cow Bessie!  please fill out an adoption application or view her PetFinder ad.  If you are unable to adopt Cow Bessie, consider sponsoring her!
Meet Hope!  Hope was born in early 2014. If you look at her pictures, you can see that her eyes look like marbles. According to the vet, Hope was a very sick little kitten and her illness affected her eyes, causing permanent corneal scarring. However, Hope can still see and her condition is not degenerative. Although there is nothing that can make her eyes better, they won't get worse. She has some difficulty with depth perception and when objects are right under her nose, however, she can play like other cats. She can follow a ball all over the place, runs and plays, and jumps up on windows, ledges, tables, etc. Hope is one of the most loving cats at our rescue. She loves to be held and loves to lay around your neck like a scarf. Hope gets along with other cats and dogs. She would do great in any family and is looking for a home to call her own please fill out an adoption application or visit her Petfinder ad.  If you are unable to adopt Hope, consider sponsoring her!
