Beards Brews Blues Festival Success
Thanks to the support and love of bushy beards, tasty beers and bold blues the 2015 Beards Brews and Blues Festival was deemed a success. On Friday November 27, six nationally touring blues and blues rock acts rallied together to provide an outstanding live performance at The Helm, Mooloolaba. Alongside the bands were craft beer tastings and Sailor Jerry samples, Coastal Assassin Roller Derby skater waitresses and displays from craft beers, local stores and bearded products.

The event boasted its own moustache ride along with a beard express lane, a barbers battle and over 1000 dollars worth of raffle prizes. Event co-ordinators The Bearded Men of the Sunshine Coast were thrilled with the event and are looking forward to presenting another festival in 2016.
The Barbers Battle was taken out by 'Bossman' Jason Sizeland from The Barbers Shed (Caloundra/Wurtulla) as he styled more than 5 hairy gentlemen and women during the evening. Punters voted on the best styles, skills and performance.

Lachy Doley and Chris Russell's Chicken Walk, both interstate acts, were highlights of the evening with local lads The Hi-Boys also showing the punters exactly why they are a Sunshine Coast favourite. Brunswick Heads local Dan Hannaford kicked off the night with a tasty blues - roots performance and ended the night with a new look, sporting a trim in the Barbers Battle. Both in their second consecutive year at the festival Swamp Gully Howlers and Transvaal Diamond Syndicate smashed out some stellar foot stompin' blues rock.
The Bearded Men of the Sunshine Coast wish to thank all the sponsors involved and they are looking forward to another successful year of beards, brews and blues on the Sunshine Coast in 2016.
