Digital and the Comprehensive Spending Review
Over the last six months, iNetwork has been in talks with Whitehall regarding support for a local government digital programme ahead of last week’s Comprehensive Spending Review. Despite best efforts, these talks had limited influence on the CSR 2015 plans in the way we would have liked.
Instead, £450 million will be channelled into Government Digital Service (GDS) that will support central government digital aims that is likely to see limited benefit to local public service delivery. Given the pressing need for a local government information and digital strategy, iNetwork discussions with DCLG and Cabinet Office will be continuing.
There is still much to digest so here are some top picks of the post spending review analysis for digital delivery:

CRM Specification
Calderdale Council are in the process of putting together a CRM spec in order to go out to tender next year. A rough draft has been put together, but they want to make sure that they are not missing anything. Do you have a CRM spec that you have developed and/or used recently that you would be willing to share? Do you have an evaluation template that you could share too? Any help you could give would be gratefully received. Please contact Toni at Calderdale Council via Shelley.

Customer Experience Improvement Strategy
Preston City Council has recently been working on a draft digital strategy to look at how, as an organisation, they can better improve, promote and enable their online services. However, they're looking to broaden this further to include improving the customer experience as a whole and their offline channels particularly around services which may not be suited to online.
Have you produced a customer experience improvement strategy (or related documents such as channel shift, digital strategies etc..) that could help Rachel at Preston in developing their own document? Any help greatly appreciated. You can contact Rachel via Shelley.
