ENoLL & Living Labs at Smart City Expo & CitiSense
As in previous years the Barcelona Smart City Expo and World Congress (17-19 November 2015) attracted many urban stakeholders and innovators from all over the world. This event is also becoming one of the reference points for innovation communities co-creating digital open and sustainable urban solutions with cities and citizens. Both the conference and exhibition showed an increased participation of Living Labs, Living Labbers and interest in Living Labs. A specific session featuring Living Labs was proof of the important shift in both the public and private sector putting citizens and local digital entrepreneurs at the heart of city innovation. The CitiSense 2015 Event (16-17 November), organised by the World Bank in parallel with Smart City Expo, also featured Living Labs, open services platforms for cities (with the presence of FIWARE), and the Open and Agile Smart Cities movement. The CitiSense event supports cities in emerging countries to deal with the new technological paradigm combined with 21 century challenges embracing Citizen Driven Innovation as one of its main pillars.
