Now is the time of year for people with newsletters and blogs to write about what they're thankful for, culminating in a heartfelt word of "thanks," put in quotation marks as if they are literally speaking those words to the hypothetical reader. So, let's get on with it.
I am thankful for family and friends. I am thankful for creativity and imagination. I am thankful for technology which makes our world a better place (for the most part). I am thankful for the cycle of the seasons, one to the next to the next (that's three . . . autumn is just pre-winter here in Louisiana). I am thankful for delicious meals and the traditions which bring us together to consume those delicious meals (and by meals, I'm mainly talking desserts). I am also thankful for all of you who read my newsletter and my blog, all of you who "follow my art" and support me along the way. For all of that and more, I say, "Thanks!" (seriously)
Ever feel like you have been busy and productive but have little to show for it in hindsight? I've been posting to my new personal Wordpress blog, radiating blue, and working on several commissioned paintings and a few other paintings, here and there, and I have been winterizing the garden and yard (compost bin is hot and happy) and did I mention I'm writing a novel and have several other projects in mind for after Thanksgiving---just so happens, I am also currently baking bread and about to give my son a couple of math worksheets to plow through next and the laundry is ready to be folded. All of that being a classic "humble-brag," I suppose, but it's all true. (note to self: look up whether or not humble-brag should be hyphenated, also don't forget to take the bread out of the oven)
