Family physicians know that strong, healthy starts help us to grow and thrive. As Canada’s elected leaders set a course for the new government, the CFPC proposes
four essential steps for the federal government to take to support Canadians’ cherished health care system.

A Guide for Reflection on Ethical Issues Concerning Assisted Suicide and Voluntary Euthanasia:
In response to the Supreme Court of Canada ruling, the CFPC is proud to release a
guidance document that will assist family physicians in addressing requests for medical aid in dying.

Opposition Shadow Cabinet and Health Critics Appointed: 
The Hon. Kellie Leitch (Simcoe–Grey) and Don Davies (Vancouver Kingsway) have been appointed as health critics in the Conservative Party and New Democratic Party shadow cabinets, respectively.
 

The TrudeauMetre:
On October 19th 2015,
Canadians elected a Liberal government led by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. The TrudeauMetre is a non-partisan collaborative citizen initiative that tracks the federal government's performance with regards to its electoral platform.
