Dear friends and colleagues,

2016 promises to be an exciting year for brands!  Between the continuing economic recovery, maturing start-ups, and established companies under pressure, there are plenty of brands to watch in 2016.  Check out my new post, a brand-builder's almanac for the coming year.

Also in this brief:  my new ChangeThis Manifesto, It's the Experience, Stupid!, and other original content posted in support of the launch of my new book, Extraordinary Experiences.

brands to watch in 2016

Which brands will break new ground, fall from grace, or overcome obstacles in 2016? Here's my list of brands to watch in 2016.  Since I couldn't narrow the list to a handful as I've done in past years, I decided to expand the list to 26, one for each letter of the alphabet.

View the list.

it's the experience, stupid!

Over 18 years ago, Joe Pine and James Gilmore declared "Welcome to the Experience Economy" and described a new state in the progression of economic value creation in which the emerging competitive battleground laid in staging experiences.  Today it's still about the experience.  Pine and  Gilmore were right.  Experience will "render irrelevant those who relegate themselves to the diminishing world of goods and services"-- and in fact, is already doing it.
