We have some good news in regard to Guaranteed Annuities. There are a couple of rate increases for December! Contracts that still guarantee 2.00% after the surrender charge period are an endangered species. (It’s on our Top 20 list, highlighted in Blue).
The Bad and Ugly...
Well, there really isn’t anything bad or ugly… and that’s good! However, there are a few attributes to these products that can make them less attractive. You can always count on TAG for the full story. Here's what you might not like:
F&G with their 3.00% 5-year doesn't make our Top 20. What gives? Too many complaints regarding their service level when they run a rate special. But if you want it, we have it. Royal Neighbors also has a debated place on our Top 20. Why? This is a strong and stable A- rated Fraternal. Full disclosure: Fraternals are not covered by State Guarantee Funds.
