Superior Days Training Meeting, Thursday!


The Superior Days training session will be 5pm - 7pm February 4th at Superior Middle School in the gym.  We will cover:
 
  • Superior Days 2016 agenda
  • Reception
  • Issues training
  • Lobbying teams
A light dinner of pizza and salad from VIP will be served.

Hotel Information


Superior Days 2016 will return to the Madison Concourse Hotel and Governor’s Club.  Rooms may still be available.  To make reservations, call the hotel directly at 800-356-8293.  Alternative hotels include: Inn on the Park, Hampton Inn, Doubletree, and The Graduate (all have available rooms as of the publishing date).

Representative Jim Steineke, Majority Leader

Tuesday Luncheon Keynote Speaker

Majority Leader Steineke will share information about what is happening in this session of the Wisconsin Assembly.

Representative Jim Steineke was born and raised in Wisconsin, living in Wauwatosa for 20 years. He attended both University of Wisconsin at Oshkosh and Milwaukee.

In 1991, he relocated to the Fox Valley area where he was a member of the Wisconsin Realtors Association and the Realtors Association of Northeast Wisconsin. He served as Vandenbroek Town Supervisor from 2005-2007 and town chairman from 2007-2011, while also serving as Outagamie County Supervisor from 2006-2011.

Rep. Steineke was elected as State Assemblyman to the 5th District in 2010 and reelected in 2012. In November of 2012, he was chosen by his fellow Assembly colleagues to serve as Assistant Majority Leader. In 2014, he was elected as Assembly Majority Leader. In this capacity, he helps mentor new representatives and staff, runs the floor debate on session days, and works with the Republican leadership team to execute decisions and maintain an organized and productive caucus. 








Congressman Sean Duffy to host a Federal Issues Update and Listening Session

10:30 - 11:30 on Tuesday, in the Assembly Room at the Concourse Hotel

Congressman Duffy will be hosting a Federal Issues update and listening session during the 31st Superior Days.  Congressman Duffy will be represented by district team members Jesse Garza and Craig Rosand.  During this one-hour session, you will have an opportunity to learn about what are the current issues in Washington D.C., and an opportunity to share feedback about the needs of the district.

Planning Your Legislative Visits


If you are planning to meet with legislators or agencies while at Superior Days, the Superior Days website has all of the information you need located under the Legislative Visits tab.  You will find scripts for calling legislators, links to the Assembly and Senate online directory, and MS Word document templates to confirm the visit and thank the legislator following the visit.

If you schedule a legislative or agency visit, please share that information here so we know what visits are occurring.  In addition, maybe another delegate has a similar interest and could join you on your visit.

Get Your Bags Ready for Madison!


Remember to pack:
  • Any training materials received at the training meeting
  • Issues briefings
  • Watch the weather to plan for your clothing needs.  It is a two-block walk from the Concourse Hotel to the Capitol building
  • Business cards
  • Camera
  • Any informational or promotional items you would like to share with legislators or agency officials.  Remember these individuals cannot receive gifts
