The Bump and Run Shot
Here we have Academy of Golf Dynamics instructor, Kyle Jerome, discussing the set-up and execution of the bump -n- run shot. As Kyle mentions, a pitch shot or putting the ball in this type of situation is an option, but a true bump -n- run shot is more of a chip shot with a mid to long iron or a 3-wood/fairway wood. Pay attention to the set-up as it's more like a putt with a more vertical club, putter grip, eyes over ball, upper body and hands slightly ahead......then make a putting stroke. If a 3-wood/fairway wood is chosen, the set-up is slightly different because of the length and design of a wood, but the execution is similar. The bump -n- run is a very effective shot to have in the bag!
