We are delighted to announce that we have achieved our original goal of raising $20,000 for our general operating fund!
This amount, combined with revenue from our restoration fund, enabled us to spend nearly $75,000 on improvements such as:
- technical advancement to the electrical, sound, communication, and lighting systems on our Main Stage and two of our studio theatres
- replacement of defunct HVAC units improving efficiencies to climate control
- replacement of gutters and downspouts to protect the infrastructure of the Athenaeum building
- refurbishing the original red oak double doors, original brass, and hardware to our beautiful Main Stage entryway
The ongoing needs for the Athenaeum far exceed our current donations. We are now setting an aggressive challenge to our friends, donors, and patrons with the goal of $10,000 to be raised by the end of 2015 to purchase a state-of-the-art digital projection system and an upgraded speaker system for the Main Stage balcony.
These upgrades will attract potential new collaborators for the Main Stage while enhancing the experience for our patrons and artists.
Thank you for your generosity!
