Dear Practitioner

You need to get connected. Allied health needs you to get connected. Let's get connected on the 5th of March 2016 at the Opal Cove Resort Coffs Harbor.  The North Coast Allied Health Association (NCAHA) will hold its formal launch together with a must see conference and must do dinner dance.

The event will include a great line up of speakers and a program of inspiring and relevant topics as well as a unique opportunity to network and connect with your allied health colleagues. It's about creating your future practice.

The NCAHA was established in 2014 with support from the North Coast Primary Health Care Network (Formally medicare local).  NCAHA is a not for profit organisation and exists to serve the interests of allied health clinicians, their practice and our community.

The AMSN is collaborating with NCAHA to manage and promote this event which is why you may notice the event registration being hosted on the AMSN website.

Even if you are not from the North Coast of NSW this is a great event to attend to see where allied health is heading.  As well, hear some of the industry's leading experts on the future of allied health in Australia. It's about creating your future practice. The resort at Opal Cove is really one of the best kept secrets on the north coast and a great spot for families.

Don't forget that you can obtain a substantial discount by joining the NCAHA before you enroll.

These are exciting times on the Northern Rivers and I really hope together with the NCAHA the AMSN can raise the profile, expertise and voice of allied health.

The Ski resort at Madorao Kogen sits at 1350 meters with about 400 meters of vertical fall and has formed a solid reputation as having reliable high quality powder snow and offers plenty of exciting tree runs for the more advanced boarders. There is a good spread of Beginner, indeterminate and advanced runs.

The CPD program for our 2016 Japan Eduventure will feature interactive review of case studies prepared by delegates. The case studies will highlight close calls, actual errors or challenges to practice boundaries.
We have all had cases that have challenged our practice: red flags; lack of recognition; incorrect diagnosis; ineffectual or inappropriate management; unexpected patient responses etc. We are going to use these case studies, not only as a chance to debrief among colleagues, but also as highly relevant, evidence based learning opportunities.
