YSRP selected as finalist to host
2016-2017 Stoneleigh Foundation
Emerging Leader Fellow!

The Stoneleigh Emerging Leader Fellowship provides a hands-on experience for young professionals interested in addressing the needs of Greater Philadelphia’s most vulnerable youth through policy analysis, research, or advocacy. Fellows work collaboratively with a host organization to shape and execute a discrete project that simultaneously advances the mission of the organization and provides the Fellow with the opportunity to gain new skills and experiences.

This is a full-time, grant-funded position that provides salary, benefits and a stipend to enable the Fellow to take advantage of professional development opportunities. The Fellow will be part of a vibrant local network of professionals focused on social justice and cross-systems reform to improve the life outcomes of vulnerable children and youth. These Fellowships are funded for one year, with the potential for an extension for one additional year; they will begin between July 1 and September 1, 2016.

Please forward this to your contacts, and help us identify a great candidate! We aim to recruit a diverse pool of candidates, particularly individuals of color.

Fellowship Focus: Improving the quality of representation provided to girls facing charges in the adult criminal justice system.

Candidate Qualifications: Candidates must have completed a JD or LLM between May 2013 and May 2016 and have an interest in criminal justice reform, juvenile justice advocacy, and trauma-informed practices.

Application Process: Send a resume, three references (including one academic and one professional), and a cover letter that explains how you heard about the opportunity; why you would like to participate in the Fellowship; why this project interests you; and what kinds of previous experience or knowledge you would bring to this particular project to Lauren Fine, YSRP Co-Director, by 12pm EST Monday, December 28, 2015. Candidates chosen for an interview will be contacted directly by YSRP. YSRP staff will recommend one final candidate to the Foundation by January 15, 2016. He or she will be interviewed by Foundation staff along with his or her proposed supervisor on either January 21 or 22. On March 3, Stoneleigh staff will present recommended candidates and projects to its Board for approval and notify organizations and candidates about whether they have been approved for funding
