We are very proud of Joanna Smeeth and our Alair Homes Peterborough team! Joanna and her crew have won the PKHBA 2015 Housing Design Award for Best Commercial Renovation, for the transformative Water Street heritage building renovation. 

Originally built in the 1870’s, this apartment building was completely renovated with the goal to carefully maintain the original architectural charm and unique features while creating a smart, functional office space with 2850 sqft.

The clients came to Alair Homes with a clear vision for the old, run-down building. There were a ton of amazing elements to the building that were an absolute must to maintain, like the beautiful main staircase, marble fireplace mantel and double set of interior entry doors with frosted glass transom.

Innovative solutions were required to ensure that all the changes met both code requirements and the clients’ vision.

The Alair Homes Scottsdale team has created a very sleek new modern interior in this full home remodel. The mid century contemporary home was taken down to the studs. Phase 1 of this project included remodeling the kitchen, enlarging the laundry room, remodeling two guest bathrooms, addition of LED lighting, ultra glossy epoxy flooring, adding custom anodized exterior doors and adding custom cumaru siding.



The kitchen includes high gloss cabinets, quartz countertops and a custom glass back splash. The bathrooms include free floating thermafoil cabinetry, quartz countertops and wall to wall tile. This house turned out incredible.
