In 2015, on average, we had 121 people gathering in Small Group each week.  For 2016, we set a goal of 160 people as our new average for Small Group involvement.

If you are interested in joining a Small Group, find more information on our website!

Christmas Dinner!

Nearly every week, Good Works offers a free community dinner on Friday nights with the intention of focusing on relationships and service.  On December 18th, Central will be providing the meal!  It will be their last meal before Christmas, so it will be that community's Christmas dinner.  Everyone is welcome to join for the meal, but we are also looking for people who might be willing to help with food preparation.  If you are interested in being a part of that team, send Joe an email!

Local Girls Concert

On Sunday afternoon, The Local Girls will be performing their annual Christmas concert.  Festivities begin at 3:30pm!  Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for kids 12 & under. Also, don't forget that we have no off-street parking on Sunday afternoons, so come out early to find a good parking spot!

Impromptu Christmas Drama

Central will be hosting it's annual Impromptu Children's Christmas play on Sunday, December 20th.  Rehearsal starts at 5pm, and the show will begin at 7pm.  All kids are invited to join us for this hilarious, fun event! And if you're interested in helping the kids rehearse and get ready before they take the stage, please send Jayk an email!

Donna Ooms, Beth Flick, and Brittany Peterson on a trip they took to Chicago over the summer!
"I thank my God every time I remember you.  In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."

"It's difficult to put into words the impact the Ooms family has had on my life since they came to Athens.  I feel like the verse above, Philippians 1:3-6, does it perfectly though.

"The Ooms family came to Central and Athens with a job move a few years ago, and now their family of 4 (soon to be 5 in January) is leaving with another job move to Wisconsin.  They joined our community small group very soon after they came to Central, and quickly became part of the 'family.'

"Donna has been instrumental in my life as a mom and a woman of the Lord.  She had the inspiration to start a women's group (out of our community group), and this has led to deep and very purposeful relationships.  Last February, she initiated a women's conference called IF:Gathering, which brought Christian women from all around Athens and other denominations together for a weekend of worship, study, and fellowship.

"I am sad to see them go, but they are leaving many imprints on the heart and soul of Central and Athens."

This week's Weekly Feature was written by Beth Flick.

As Donna, John, Abigail, and Will begin a new chapter in Wisconsin and prepare to welcome a new little one, we offer them our prayers, our blessings, and our gratitude.

IF:Gathering will take place from February 5-6 this year.  If you are interested in more information, please
send an email!
