  • Let's celebrate! Elect One Voice's 2016 officers, mingle with your nonprofit peers over cocktails and yummy bites, and celebrate another great year for One Voice.  
    • Brief Membership Meeting (3:00-4:00pm) - Members will vote on the 2016 officers and discuss other One Voice end of the year business.
    • Happy Hour (4:00-6:00pm) - Event will include complimentary appetizers and a cash bar.
    • Parking - Parking is available in the lot directly behind Pelons ($8), in addition to street parking available in the area.

One Voice 403b (MEP) Launch Recap

After almost a year of planning and preparation, One Voice's 403b Retirement Plan (formerly known as the MEP), is set to launch in early 2016. For those unable to attend this week's launch meeting, here are some follow-up materials to get you up to speed on the plan's creation and structure, and next steps for organizations looking to participate.
 
Haven't signed up yet? - For organizations who are interested but have not yet signed onto the 403b plan, please fill out the Commitment Form and send to Aaron at Aaron.Pottichen@clspartners.com and cc jadeline@onevoicecentraltx.org.

Join or Renew your One Voice Membership for 2016!


The One Voice Executive Committee invites you to join One Voice in 2016 as we tackle difficult issues and work to strengthen our local nonprofit community. In 2016, we will concentrate on advocating on behalf of health and human services interests; identifying and promoting additional public revenue streams for human service; implementing a 403b Plan for retirement benefits and identifying opportunities for the collective purchasing of healthcare and ancillary benefits plans; providing mentorship and networking opportunities for Executive Directors; and implementing a new work plan determined during our strategic planning process.

Austin B-cycle Offers $5 Membership for
Low-Income Austin Residents


Austin B-cycle, a local nonprofit operating the bike share program for the City of Austin, is now offering a membership discount for low-income residents. Any Austin resident earning less than $25,000 per year, and not enrolled in school full-time, is eligible for a one year membership for just $5! The membership gives you access to 375 bikes at 50 stations around Austin, and unlimited rides of up to 30 minutes for a full year. For more information, visit AustinBcycle.com or call 512.954.1665.

Grant Opportunities in Williamson County

 
United Way of Williamson County 2016-17 Community Impact Grant
The United Way of Williamson County (UWWC) is now accepting Letters of Intent (LOI) from nonprofit organizations serving residents of Williamson County in the areas of education, income stability, health and basic needs. Organizations will need to submit a LOI outline for each program or project for which you are seeking funding. Learn more about the funding here; access the application here.
Georgetown Health Foundation 2016 Grant
Georgetown Health Foundation (GHF) is now accepting Letters of Intent (LOI) from nonprofit organizations that serve Georgetown children, youth, elders, and families who are low-income and/or have significant need. Applicants must demonstrate alignment with GHF's Healthy Living and Healthy Community initiatives. Learn more about GHF funding here; access information about the application process here.

Texas Health Care Guide
The Center for Public Policy Priorities (CPPP) debuted the Texas Health Care Guide to help Texans navigate their options for affordable health coverage. The website helps users find expert resources on how to apply for coverage, how to choose a plan, how to use and understand insurance, and more. The Guide connects consumers to numerous resources across the state and beyond, including information on how and where to get in-person help enrolling and tips about who can help along the way. 

Webinar: "Under the Hood" of the New Texas Education Scorecard
  • When: Wednesday, December 9th, 12:00-1:00pm
  • Details: CPPP is offering a free webinar to present information from the Texas Education Scorecard, an interative data tool that evaluates school readiness, education funding, and transitions to college on a county basis. Learn how your community can use the tool to identify policies and practices that can move students from their first steps in school on to higher education and a promising career.
