Dear <<First Name>>,

This week, the Oxford Mail announced details of the 2016 OX5 Run to raise money for Oxford Children's Hospital.  The run will take place on 17th April and we would like to put an NUT team together. For more information or to get involved, email us back.

Last week, we held a members' meeting at Larkrise Primary School with guest speakers Tamsin Browning (Save Oxfordshire's Children's Centres) and Kevin Courtney (Deputy General Secretary, NUT). The meeting agreed to set up an activist network of teachers and parents to campaign on educational issues, including children's centres, education funding, housing, and assessment and accountability. If you would like to get involved, you can sign up here:

We also agreed to set up a Black Teachers' Network (we will be sending a further email about this soon) and to publicise the following invitation from the National Association for Primary Education:

"You are most cordially invited to come to the 2015 Schiller lecture arranged for the 9th December commencing at 5.00 pm with refreshments in the Main Hall of the Westminster Institute of Education, Harcourt Hill Campus of Oxford Brookes University.  Professor Blatchford will speak on the topic “Does Class Size Matter?" Finally, I wanted to invite you to our next Professional Development course on 4th February 2016 at the Kassam Stadium. David Reedy, President of the UK Literacy Association, will be leading a day on Encouraging and Embedding Literacy Across the Curriculum. For more details, click here:

I hope you have a pleasant weekend.

Best wishes,

Gawain Little
Secretary
